Subj: [kl] strengthening embouchure

Hello there!

I resumed playing after many years away from the clarinet. The problem I am
experiencing is that my embouchure is taking an extremely long time to
develop the strength it once had. If I play for short intervals several
times a day it begins to come back. But if I miss a day or two even after
several months it seems I am back to square one, and can only play for a few
minutes before muscle fatigue sets in. I assume that this has something to
do with my age.

I am seeking suggestions for exercises that I can do when not playing
perhaps, to strengthen the muscles of the cheeks and mouth somehow. I'd be
interested in any kind of suggestions or if others have had similar
experiences.

Thanks,

Stewart Kiritz
