...and in answer to my own post...

This *IS* available from MHS for $14.99 - you don't even need to be a
member. Also, on the Web Specials button, Davern's "My Inspiration" is
$5.09 -such a deal!

I heard Davern a long time ago (1978?) when the Clarinet Fest was in
Toronto. He sat in with a session of Eddie Daniels', and they "traded
fours", or more to the point "competed fours". Davern m ore than held his
own in terms of inventiveness and raw technique.
