I think 'musicians' is the wrong term here - I feel that some of the
people out there are fantastic musicians; many are fantastically better
than me (which I have no problem with, since they devote all their time to
it, whilst I divide my time between it, work, class, etc), and as a result
people often think I am jealous of them and that's why I knock them.
That's certainly not the case - I think they're great musicians, but they
aren't ARTISTS! THAT'S where I think the primary distinction lies.

So...where does that leave me? Hmm...I like to think of my self as an
artist in the making, but we'll see. Although I certainly wouldn't mind
being a great musician eventually...but only if I'm an artist to
boot...and only if I have friends like I have now to keep my attitude in
line. *grin*
