To the best of my knowledge, Pan American did not make any rosewood
clarinets. Since it was a cheaper line put out by Conn, which did not
make especially fine clarinets anyway, it would be unlikely. Their
laminate clarinets do have a strikingly beautiful "grain" pattern, though,
which came out when the billets of laminated wood were turned on the lathe.
It shows to greatest effect on the bell, due to the curvature. You may
also notice that many of the toneholes are inserts, rather than integral.
