Bill,

I understand your concept here, but I just don't see it being universally
true. I interpret a Brahms Serenade differently than our conductor, but
tonight I enjoyed his approach so much that I didn't mind doing what he
wanted. I may even end up going for his rather than mine.

I really think people want from a conductor - respect, room to personally
express, good leadership, good technique, and superb musicianship.
