Hello all -

I'm in the process of writing some notes for an upcoming recital that includes
the Op. 29 Trio of Vincent D'Indy. While finding information on D'Indy himself
is not difficult, I'm at a bit of a loss for anything regarding the piece
itself, aside from describing formal structures, which I can do by myself. I
was wondering if anyone might shed any light on the piece in terms of why it
was composed, who it was written for, etc.

Any help is appreciated. Many thanks.

ps - any of you that are anywhere near East Lansing, MI are welcome to attend a
DMA recital on Nov. 1 at 8pm in the MSU Music Auditorium. The program will
include the Bergmuller _Duo_, K. Lendvay's _Respectfully yours, Mr. Goodman,
Joan Tower's _Fantasy_, and the aforementioned D'Indy _Trio_. 'Tis free, and
leave any fruit for throwing at home. :)
