Perhaps i was being a tad on the drastic side, mark. I am the mother of a
teenager who listens to a great deal of popular music. What I find
disturbing about the music is primarily its negative content - that nothing
is worth doing and life is not worth living. This is frightening. Does
this keep the music from being great ? Maybe not. Does it keep me from
being able to stomach it ? Unqualifiedly, yes.
