Yep. (but then that question's already been answered!)
I had only an inkling that this was a "period instrument" recording due to Tony's reputation for
such things. It didn't make it clear in the sleeve notes that came with it. What convinced me was a
rather dodgy clarion Bb in the 3rd movt of Op.73 (bar 156). The fingering on a modern instrument is
easy, but I assume that on a six-keyed instrument the transition from clarion E to clarion Bb
necessitates a forked fingering of sorts.
Apart from this single note, I couldn't really tell that it wasn't on a modern clarinet.
Needless to say, I have this in my collection and I do like it!
