Are you looking for recordings or sheet music? Many of Pete Fountain's
albums are now available on CD. I have buried in my collection a book of
transcriptions of his early recordings for clarinet and piano. As I recall,
it was published about 1962. I'll dig it up and give you the particulars on
the publisher. Have no idea if it is still available.

Spent my high school years listening to Pete Fountain (remember the Lawrence
Welk appearances?!), Benny Goodman, and Artie Shaw. Didn't do much for my
classical tone, but I loved the sound. I've had to forget the vibrato over
the years!

Subject: [kl] Pete Fountain music

Hi,

I've got a very good 8th grade clarinet student who is interested in
learning
some Pete Fountain. I'm sure that this kind of music is not carried in our
local music stores. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
