A friend, local repair man, started a sideline business fo making fancy
decorative neck/shoulder straps for musicians, (Sax, Guitar, etc). All this
talk about tuning rings gives me the idea to make them for you guys. I could
do that. What material do you think would be best. It should not swell or
shrink (PVC, nylon, plastic, acrylic, neoprene), should be removable quickly
by just inverting your instrument (outside diameter just slightly smaller than
the tenon), should have an inside diameter of your instrument so as to not
allow any eddys in the air flow, (uh oh, how many different ID's are there),
and come in a package of several thicknesses for different performance dates
(cold Christmas performances and 4th of July concerts in the Park). I am
about to retire and this might be a source of income.
