Is my posting on this subject a sign that I don't have a life outside of =
the clarinet?

I use Buffet tuning rings, but I have also used the Selmer tuning rings =
in the past.
The Buffet tuning rings are a *bit* sloppy in the bottom tenon of the =
barrel joint, but this prevents them from becoming stuck. I do like the =
fact that the bore is oversized so that there is no opportunity to =
impede the bore of the clarinet. But, what I really like about the =
Buffet tuning rings is that they fit perfectly in the middle joint. All =
Buffet R-13s are too sharp for my taste from clarion "F" to "B". Using a =
1/2mm tuning ring here in both the Bb and A clarinet helps the pitch a =
lot. If you place a tuning ring here you should also have some type of =
spacer to go around the shoulder of the upper joint lower tenon so that =
it does not rock. I make these from Valentino 1/32 sheet cork material.

The Selmer tuning rings do not fit Buffet clarinets and must be filed on =
the outside and inside

I am playing a concert today in San Jose with the San Jose Symphony and =
a group called Mariachi Cobre. Any of you ever heard them or played with =
them?. What a talented group of musicians!
