My teacher and I are going to look at new R13 clarinets tomorrow, and I will
most likely buy one. I'm considering a Greenline model, based in part on
the mostly positive posts that I read in the klarinet archives. But the
salesman tells me that there have been problems with the tenons cracking on
the Greenline clarinets. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Thanks,

Mike Holmes

I'm sitting here practicing my Greenline Festival as I read through the
accumulated Klarinet postings. My understanding was that there were a few
problems at first, but that whatever problem there was is now corrected.

Interestingly, I bought a Greenline Festival and a regular Festival (my 3rd
and 4th Festivals since they came into this country), and I do most of my
practicing on the Greenline--first because I didn't want to overwork a new
wood clarinet and risk cracking it, but later because I just like playing it.
The pitch is fantastic--its resistance is even and color is just beautiful.
I think I am joining my friend in Tempe as a "greenline guy."
