I had lunch today with Clark Fobes and we were discussing this very
issue. While a contemporary facsimile of a 5 or 6-six-keyed clarinet
with a modern mouthpiece may be able to produce a high G, there is no
assurance that one with a mouthpiece of that era could have done so.
The fact is that I don't know if it Stadler could play a high G
consistently.
