No Brannen has not worked on my "A". I prefer to do my own work. I had not
considered cutting down the register tube. What exactly does this accomplish?

I had not tried this. I believe I will, as my "solution" set-up only works at
A-440. The sharper notes can also be a problem when I play at 442.

The thing that worked for me was narrowing the bore of the barrel. I DID have
to pull out as I was using a 65 mm barrel. Basically, what I did do was
simulate a longer, but reduced diameter reverse taper conical bore.

I got the idea from Lee Gibson's book.

I also DID pull out at the top of the barrel. I made my own tuning ring to
fit. For some reason, I needed to pull out LESS there, and it seemed to
create less disruption of the scale.
