Come on, guys, think. Why does a reed stored on glass not warp as much as a
piece of lumber? Answer in next installment.

Next installment:

Going from reed tip to the butt, every .001 inch section has a bigger brother
.001 inch behind it holding it down with the influence of greater strength from
the thicker .0001 inch. This allows the cane to dry (shrink, if you don't
believe me, use your mic or caliper) in a flat form.
