They are certainly within reason reliable. Concavities such as Zinners' can
be measured reliably just like any other part of the mouthpiece. I have
found the Zinner concavity to measure extremely consistent.

For that matter, the axis of a finished, hand flattened table can vary from
mouthpiece to mouthpiece and can effect the entire formula - but not to any
more of a degree than from one Zinner concave table to another.
