With the discussions going on by many of the makers on this list about
asymmetrical and symmetrical mouthpieces, I recalled hearing that some reed
manufacturers deliberately make reeds slightly asymmetric.

Assuming this is true, does anyone have a view about whether the combination
of an asymmetrical mouthpiece with a symmetrical reed would have a similar
effect to a symmetrical mouthpiece with an asymmetrical reed?

Or am I missing yet another point - Should the reed for an asymmetrical
mouthpiece also be asymmetrical?

Any thoughts?
