Wow, Greg, am I ever glad to hear you say this! I've had the same experience
with V12 3.5s - when I go through the whole sanding process the way I'm
"supposed" to do, they feel really dead to me. I'm much happier when I just
seal the vamp and play them in over a period of days, but have always worried
that I was somehow doing it wrong. Guess that'll teach me to trust in my own
experience! I still dry them on glass, though - I'll have to try the grooved
surface and see what I think.
