Sanding the back of the V12 3.5 (not at the tip) destroys the sound character
and solid feeling of this reed for me. I could get away with it using the
Morre but those reeds were more substantial. By contrast, the V12's are I
suspect designed to play more right out of the box - less margin there to
sand.

Proper sealing of the trademark side and vamp of the reed and storing in a
grooved holder works best for me. I suspect that this stabilises this lower
density cane as thoroughly as possible.
