Essentially, yes. Sometimes my right or left arm will disappear,
and I'll realize that I've completely lost peripheral vision in one
eye or another -- a clear sign of unbearable pain to come. And then
there are times when the vision completely fails. In those cases,
nothing is discernible in the afflicted eye -- just darkness. In
both cases, it's a mad rush for medication to head off the storm.

Merely going to bed does me no good. Gene Nibbelin cited his sister's
research on migraines, and Bonnie Davis recommended Imitrex to me pri-
vately. I'm one of the "fortunate" migraine sufferers in the world:
they don't happen frequently enough for me to dedicate a lot of my time
or energy preparing for them or dealing with them. I'm only so verbal
about them here because they really are unbearable when they do occur
sans available medication.
