Roger, I believe you are correct and my memory distorted a bit. However the facing I was playing at the time required a thinner tip on the reed than Mohler was using himself. I couldn't play on his reeds, he couldn't play on mine, without swapping mouthpieces as well.

However, I'll bet anything that the reeds I prepare NOW, are quite similar to what Mohler was making then.
