As a general matter of clarification:
My three H. Chedeville style model tip openings rarely exceed 1mm -
probably a difference of different peoples measuring tip wands or glass. The
concavity in the table does make them feel more like they have a "medium" tip
opening.
The Frank Kaspar (Chicago, Cicero) style that I make has a tip opening
similar to his most successful symphonic facings - around 1.1 mm - and they
have a flat table.
In my experience, both of these models allow for a low register that is
as full as is possible in the symphonic, chamber and solo conditions that I
play.

One of the major things that distinguishes the two styles of mouthpiece
making mentioned is that I apply symmetrical facings only.
