Well, I've never experienced a "migraine-like" headache in my life. Either
it's a migraine, or it's not, and there is no mistaking the difference be-
tween the two. If you are indeed experiencing migraines, you need to take
medicine the moment the signs make themselves evident. In my case, I lit-
erally go blind in one eye -- sometimes both -- when a migraine headache is
about to occur. This warning (a rather potent one, eh?) is called an "aura"
(it's different for different people) and, in my case, gives me the oppor-
tunity to mitigate the ensuing agony. I usually pop 3 or 4 Excedrins the
moment the eyesight begins to fade. When the vision returns, the pain soon
follows, and I've noticed that it is less than a full-blown migraine at that
point (although it's still three or four times more painful than any conven-
tional headache). My doctor is now willing to prescribe me a stash of co-
deine for those worst cases when nothing else helps. I'll take a kick in
the balls over a full-blown migraine sans medicine, any day.
