Bill,
I described the content of the video to the list 2 1/2 weeks ago. You were
busy, I believe, trying to contact
some unkempt, bearded cafe pianist who wrote a couple of clarinet sonatas.
Here then, -for your very own eyes-, Ian Haystead covers glissando,
vibrato, slap tonguing, lip bends, and circular breathing for both clarinet
and saxophone. Duration is 55 minutes.

You were beginning to master high D were you not, about 6 months ago? Have
you got up to F yet? Look at the 8th bar before the very end of Brahms op.
120. I can`t take Tony P`s place, but I`m sure we`ll all chip in from time
to time to get you thru` to the last bar.
While I`m still here, there is also a gem of a book written by our own Jack
Brymer. Apart from wonderful coverage of resonant fingerings and alternate
high fingerings, there is also history, practicalities, i.e. keywork,
corking, springing etc, the artistic approach, and teaching. And what else
but a small "bit" on the opening of op.120. It`s pub. by Kahn & Averill, 9
Harrington Road, London, SW7 3ES, and is in the "Yehudi Menuhin Music
Guides" series. The ISBN no is 1-871082-12-9. I purchased my paperback 10
years ago for £9.95
