Both of those pieces are pretty easy (Rabaud, Messager), basically
sightreadable for a professional player. Corigliano, that's another story.
Francaix (circus piece ;) is a very, very hard one too. Many Modern works
are quite tough, the Davies - Hymnos comes to mind.
Then there's the Mozart Concerto which is like a clear plate of Glass - any
speck shows very distinctly.

I read through the Messager this weekend (trying to decide between that
and the Rabaud...think I'm going with the Rabaud)...it certainly has it's
moments. However, the two pieces that I've heard that outclass just about
everything I've heard/read are "Licorice Licks" and the Corliagno
Concerto. Licorice Licks, I had the pleasure of hearing in high school -
a truly dazzling piece that boggles the imagination. The lead clarinetist
seriously needs his stuff together. Our performer was from NMSU's rival
school, but he was rather...hmm...the Corliagno (sp?) I've only heard by
recording...Stolzman, I think....and...uh...whoa.
