And, depending upon how widely you want it to be played (school bands,
community bands, etc., or only large professional groups) you might
consider making VERY optional the Eb and alto clarinet parts, english horn
and bass trombone also. For example, in one group I play in, we have only
one double reed player who covers both oboe and English horn, but also
plays Eb clarinet where called for. Snare drums, bass drum, tympani,
bells, chimes, marimba/xylophone and various effects percussion are pretty
standard, but you may not want to have bells, chimes, and marimba all at
the same time, since only one keyboard percussionist may be available.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
