Yes, you're right. Of course, I didn't see the passage, so I can't
judge. But as I say, apology is really the only move. Composers are
unfortunately entitled to assume that you can play as well as the best,
and on the clarinet that's tricky.

Perhaps I adjust my graces to the company I'm keeping. Composers are
usually insecure, a fact that players tend to overlook.

Your sweet-talking notwithstanding, I for one continue to regard your
association with M$'s current policies, and particularly with its legal
defence, a very deep moral degradation, and indicative of a
short-sighted view on your part of what is needed in the world. (Strong
business acumen, indeed!)

Politeness has nothing to do with social responsibility.

The world of garbage truck repossession -- though of course dealing with
ordinary human behaviour, which is important -- has a very limited
impact on the ultimate future of our world, unlike the machinations you
are at present party to. (The same goes for clarinet playing, of course,
unfortunately.)

Work for one of the linux companies, if you like computers -- or go
back to the trucks.
