Per "Webster's Collegiate Dictionary": Coronet 1. A small crown, esp. one
marking a rank lower than sovereignty. 2. An ornamental fillet or wreath
worn round the temples. 3. The lower part of a horse's pastern where the
horn terminates in skin.

What key "Coronet" is your teacher going to teach. And, where do you put
the mouthpiece?

I know this was probably just a typo, but I couldn't resist the opportunity.
The image of someone "playing a Coronet" was just too funny to pass up.

So basically I am torn between 2 instruments, being the clarinet and the
flute. And I'm afraid, I don't want to just throw away all I have
accomplished on clarinet, although I love the flute's sound much more.
Any comments?

Some of us have more time available for music than others, but do
you have to give up one instrument in order to play another?
My instructor plays professionally, so she may (?) spend more time
with music than others of us, but she plays several different clarinets,
several different saxophones, flute, and recently she was hired by a
school district (or music camp, I'm not sure which) to teach coronet as
well.
One of the ladies here plays both double bass (string instrument)
and clarinet.

Cheers,
Bill
