NEWS FLASH! I just heard from a Selmer rep only an hour or so ago that
effective sometime last week, Selmer USA bought UMI!!!

Also, Conn makes a reasonable intermediate sax now, too: the 25M. They
are trying very hard to recapture the vintage Conn sound, and their
reputation after the disastrous excursion into Mexican production. Conn's
french horns and better trombones, like the 88H, still command respect in
the professional ranks. And they still make the only Sousaphone that's
worth a hoot. Too bad they still can't make a decent clarinet!
