Subj: [kl] A Definetly Different Opinion on clarinet (not my opinion!)
Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2000 20:08:49 -0400

I was recently talking to a giutar player about music. I mentioned that I was
looking at two wooden clarinets, as I wanted to get a new one (Leblanc Noblet
40 and 45, if you care). When he asked how much I was going to have to pay,
and I told him the price, he said it was a rip off. All clarinets sound the
same, according to him. This made me kinda mad, because he evidently did not
know the first thing about clarinet playing. Later in the convrosation, I
found out he didn't know that material, reed, mouthpiece, and player make a
difference in sound quality. You meet some strange ideas out there!
