My personal favorites, in no particular order:

Stolzman/Richard Goode - I like the piano playing in this recording more
than any other. For people who don't particularly like Stolzman's
approach to clarinet playing, he is on his best behavior.

Harold Wright/Harris Goldsmith (from the 60's) - lovely, subtle clarinet
playing. A pianist who has mistaken his instrument for a bicycle. I like
this better than the Wright/Serkin recording, where the balance seems to
me to be *VERY* piano heavy.

Zuckerman/Barenboim (viola recording) - I find viola recordings and
performances of these pieces to be very instructive. String players have
a different approach to playing than clarinet players, vibrato being the
most notable feature. It's more overtly "espressivo" (to chime in on that
subject!) than the cooler clarinet sound.

The Primrose/Firkusny (viola) recording of the Eb sonata is nice, too.
