In the London version, the Growltiger sequence contained a wonderful song
(my favourite!) called "Billy McCaw" about a seedy bar where all the rough
sailors hang out. It was replaced in the American version by a mock Italian
aria. Also, the music to "Mungojerry and Rumpleteaser" was changed
completely from it's original (which was similar in style to "Macavity") to
a silly circus-type number. There are at least two more verses to "Old
Deuteronomy" (I guess they thought we wouldn't know what a "lorry" was!).
That's all I can think of off the top of my head!
