Stewart,
There is quite a good video on all the acoustic effects available from, and
made by Ian Haystead of the U.K. in collaboration with "Reedimensions". I`m
sure he won`t mind if I pass on his home phone number to you, if you can`t
find it (the video) in the U.S. I will do that privately as and when. It
covers glissando, vibrato, slap tonguing, lip bends, and circular breathing
for both clarinet and saxophone. What I do not know is the cost, but would
guess at around $20 - $25 i.e. £14/15/16?
Or a quick outline (nothing comprehensive) play C 3rd space - move to D, in
the normal way, then relax bottom lip to the extent that the D fingering is
sounding the C. Then with permanently relaxed/loose/bad/lazy bottom lip
embouchure, slide each finger off in turn, quite slowly, until you reach the
top C fingering. (The right hand fingers slide to the right. Left to the
left). This top C fingering is now sounding Bb. With no more fingers to
slide off, bring your bottom lip pressure back to normal and your note will
slide up to the correct pitch of top C. This process will require a little
practice. Best of luck. Don`t try it when you are in the company of your
cat!

Tony W.
