Excuse my confusion but let me ask a question, now that the Enemy seems to
have circled the "buy new & don't mess with it Camp".

Certainly, there shouldn't be a conclusion that OLDER is BETTER than newer
instruments?

That would seem to be an equally prejudicial conclusion.

I thought the answer had always been that is DEPENDS ...

(economics, replacement parts available or can be created, instrument is no
longer manufactured, etc)

BTW: Boosey & Hawkes/BC would sure have me believe that the Vintage R-13 is
muc imporved over a real "vintage" R-13. :>)
