I'd forgotten the funniest thing about that trumpet: Someone on the assembly
line had diligently screwed on the valve caps, top and bottom. These caps go
*over* the valves on the outside. Evidently it wasn't that person's job to
inform somebody up the line that the casings were empty!

That Xerox story of Bill Wright's (which reminded me about the valve caps)
lends new meaning to the old Xerox TV commercial where some schlockmeister
tries to pass off inferior equipment as, "Just as good as a Xerox." ;-)
