I have always found that debate fairly illuminating! But, just to be
slightly annoying here (so I'll start!), "blow out", a term that describes
a change in the instrument itself (bore, dimensions, wood quality, etc....)
seems to occur most frequently in climates that allow for changes to
happen. This is one of the reasons that people disagree so much regarding
the phenomenon. I have had a Bb blow out (for those reasons), but I've
never had other clarinets blow out - primarily because they have lived in
stable conditions their entire life! The one that was "blown out" moved
all over the country for 15 years. The A I play on now I have had for 11
years and is simply getting better and better!

Sorry......had to start it.

Sincerely,
Roger Garrett
