And I've complained, at times pretty stridently, to Coda about this. I can
save files in any Microsoft product and most other productivity programs
I've used in a format an older version can read. Only Coda insists it would
take too much development time to add this capability.

Sorry about the non-clarinet tangent. This one has become a hot button for
me. Now I've vented and feel better.
