Well, a reed suggestion...if you're having trouble finding reeds that fit,
try Black Masters - they are better sized for Eb's than Bb Vandies, and
have thickness comparable to V12s, which I REALLY like. I haven't tried
the White Masters yet.

As far as for bringing the upper register in tune...I've heard that some
players simply find it easier to play a half step opposite the direction
of pitch and adjust with the lips, ie, since you struggle with sharpness,
you could play everything a half step lower and do a little lipping up to
bring it in tune. I myself have not had a passage that required me to do
that (I have trouble tuning the upper register for long periods of
time...it really wears my chops out...but brief turns up there aren't so
bad), so I don't know how well that solution really works.

No, I take it back...I have seen one long passage that was written all up
there...Copland's Outdoor Overture...lucky for me that the part was marked
"8va Ad Libitum." *smirk*
