Thanks for sharing that Tony. It's a beautiful story, and reminds me why I had to be a musician/clarinetist in the first place.
You know, as I age I am becooming increasingly cranky, cynical, and jaded.....However, listening to a performance of a piece like "Pierrot" can still give me chills.......
Speaking of chills...... I got to hear David Shifrin at Ravinia a week or so ago, with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.. He did a wonderful performance of the Brahms quintet. They also did an incredible performance of the Copland Sextet for String Quartet, Piano, and Clarinet......WOW what a hard piece......
