That is the most unbelievably ARROGANT thing I have ever heard! It's one
thing to refuse to work on cheap Chinese imports, which our store
technicians would like to do, but seldom enforce. But to find a perfectly
good and respected professional level instrument to be not up to their
standards to dirty their hands on? What's the matter? Don't they think
they are good enough to handle the job? Or was it a blow-off because they
have too much work already? Either way, I think it STINKS!

Frankly, I think almost any reasonably qualified local store tech could
handle your problem just fine, probably in a matter of minutes, but I
realize that for top-flight professional performance you may feel much more
comfortable with top-flight professional work, and that comfort may be well
worth the price to you.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
