Subj: [kl] Gershwin Preludes
Date: Tue, 5 Sep 2000 12:59:05 -0400

Gershwin`s Three Preludes were written for piano. He originally wrote and
performed five at the Hotel Roosevelt in N.Y. City in 1926. Someone has
orchestrated them. And others have arr. them for solo instruments & piano.
And I vaguely recollect lyric set to one(?) of them. I have heard a clarinet
arr. with piano acc.of them (Three Pr.) in the last 18 months. I`ll do some
further research. Or if anyone else knows this arr. then please share it
with us.

P.S.
I studied with Paul Harvey for a short time. He`s quite a prolific writer
for clarinet and saxophone. Good workable educational stuff.
