I guess I'm in my curmudgeonly mood today! I have seen "Cats," and found
myself wondering, "What is this about, anyway?" "What does it mean?" "Why
would anyone devote this much time, energy, and money to such a thing?"
"Why do people spend so much money to see this?"
But, I also saw "Crazy for You" in London. It contains some of "forgotten"
Gershwin songs, which in my opinion would have been better left to die a
natural death. He wrote so many great songs, and I regret that we have a
tendency to try to dredge up every crumb that ever fell from his pen. I
prefer to remember him for his monumental works.
OK, there's plenty of ammuntion for you! Fire away!
