I've seen the show twice, done by road companies. It is a pleasant show,
but why anyone would have cared to see it when "Crazy for You" was on
Broadway at the same time is a complete mysery to me! That show has actual
singable tunes with clever, sensible lyrics all through it (not just one -
"Memory"), a PLOT, jokes, less dancing than "Cats" maybe, but still plenty,
and leaves you positivley breathless with enjoyment. By comparison I find
"Cats" to be a bore, notwithstanding many attractively slinky dancers in
skin-tight leotards.

I wonder how many more of the

The video of "Cats" is already available. Miss Saigon will probably be
ruined by Hollywood soon. Revivals will be forthcoming. Courage! These
mega-year runs for shows are the exception, not the rule. Some of the most
famous and favorite shows in Broadway history only ran a year or so, and
were considered major hits in their time. Some of the current shows are so
expensive to mount they almost HAVE to run for years to make a profit!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
