. . . actually, too bad for all of us. The recent string about Scholenberg
tickles me to rant at the Schirmer people, who no longer print his Theme and
Variations for wind ensemble. It's 12-tone, to be sure, but very accessable
and a terrific piece of music. A shame I can't buy it anywhere.

The bad news is that Schoenberg, whilst dead, is not dead enough for the
work to be public domain. So while Schirmer won't sell it to me, I'm sure
they'd sue if I published it to myself via photocopier. Oh bother.
