Tony Pay said in his 1st post:-
> How would you like me to explain it to you, Tony?

Tony W says, This is again an offensive reply.

T.P.
>I think it's rather for people who repeat stories like that to explain why
they think
> that they're true.

T.W.
Did I >say that this story was true? I apologise if I did. I have in fact
always found it quite hard to believe. I was only relating the story with
the same amount of "chatty conversational communication" as how we all heard
about the Schoenberg story. And you almost accused me of being
malicious - - - ?

T.P.
> I liked the Shakespeare, but didn't find the other bit funny.

T.W.
Thank you again for your forthright comment as to what you do find, and you
don`t find humorous. I can`t say that I have perceived anyone else on the
list to be quite so insensitive.

T.P.
> Why didn't you find *my* post funny, by the way?-)

T.W.
Because it was rude.

Tony Pay`s 2nd Post:-

Tony,
Please don`t "lecture" (strong word, but I`ll leave it in) to me how people
normally behave, or how people gossip. In the end, it turns out that the two
composers story is no more gossip than the Schoenberg story, and you entered
into that topic like a "clarinettist on heat". Quite naturally of course
because you are a clarinettist. But all "stories" have a specific origin
"somewhere", and I note that you did find >some humour in it after all.
No "general principles" have been breached - certainly not by me - I didn`t
mention anyone personally by name.

Finally, those two "young" composers will be in their 60`s by now I would
think, as the clarinettist in question personally related that story to me
in the early 60`s. Was he in turn also talking "crap"?

Best,
Tony W.
