my kids tell me that new CD recorders (all brands) work
significantly better than ones that are 6 months old and
those work significantly better than ones that are a year
old. (We don't buy a new CD burner every six months, so I
don't know how they know, but this seems to be something
they discuss among themselves.) Good luck.
