Eric Hoeprich studied at Harvard University
and the Royal Conservatoire of Music in The Hague
He now (1994) teaches at the Royal Conservatory
of Music in The Hague and is principal clarinet
of the Orchestra of the 18th Century and frequently
plays period instruments in recital and other orchestras
such as the London Classical Players and the
Academy of Ancient Music, Tafelmusik, and
English Baroque Soloists, Nachtmusik,
and the following ensembles: Amadeus Winds,
Trio d'Amsterdam, the Biedermeier Quintet
and the Stadler Trio (basset horns),
Some of the "early" clarinets he plays are replicas
of his own manufacture. He collects early clarinets.
His research articles have been published in
Early Music, the Galpin Society Journal and Tibia.
He has lectured in Oxford, Cambridge, in the UK,
and also Arizona, Brussels, Oslo, Wuerzburg,
Costa Rico and San Francisco
