The National Association of Profession Band Instrument Technicians (NAPBIRT)
is the biggest, most successful and longest lived association for wind
instrument repair that I know of. NAPBIRT is more than national as it has
international members and participants. NAPBIRT holds yearly conventions where
well prepared clinics are given, tool suppliers show their products,
instrument makers attend and participate. Ideas are exchanged, funny stories
are told and unique problems are discussed.

Joining NAPBIRT and going to their conventions is a great way to improve one's
skills and knowledge, to make valuable connections and keep up on the latest
and most innovative techniques, tools and supplies in the trade.
