Perhaps some of the techs on the list will have more expanded replies. My
experience has been that cork pads last much longer than bladder pads and
seal more completely. Their downside is that they can be a little noisier as
they close against the tone hole. I don't have cork on the large pads at the
bottom, mostly because my repair person has never recommended them for those
holes, so I'm not sure if seating cork pads can be done easily (or at all)
where large surface areas are involved.
