That post originally appeared in the Clarinet Bulletin Board at http://www.sneezy.org/clarinet/BBoard; I was surprised to see it posted here in its entirety. Ken has quite a few very well thought out articles in there covering different music; it would be well worth your while to search for Ken's name in there.

Ken & I have talked in the past about putting his posts in their own area on Sneezy; we'll resurrect that. Ken wanted to clean up a number of them.
